The clients making samples three years ago want to place order today.

When I just log on QQ this morning, an instant message has come out, it’s from a customer who took the samples three years ago, which writes: Hello, I’m XXX from XXX company in Zhejiang, you’ve played the two damping for me three years ago, do you remember? The client has tested and was satisfied with it, now we would play the first order, 5000 sets.

I’ve checked the message about the client, have a little impress, but have forgotten the style he referred.  

I’m so happy about it, replied immediately Of course I do remember, just can’t remember the style of the sample, could you please sent the picture of the sample to me, I will help to arrange the production at once.

He answered: OK, I have the picture here, now sending it to you.

When I took a look at it, oh, it is this model.

The client is a producer who product car Refrigerator, the soft close drawer slide is used in the refrigerator from a Korea client, the material required is environment-friendly galvanized, in addition, it must ensure that the refrigerator normal use in the negative 5 degrees, and when we push and pull the drawer slide, it should be no noise. Years of experience told me that the clients from Japan and Korea are strict in the quality. When I took the sample first time, I sent it to my client immediately, and they gave some advice on it, then I reproduced the sample, the client gave some suggestion in detail. It was the third time that they are satisfied with our sample. Hard work pays off, the client says test pass three years later and play the first order.

From the deal, give me the greatest feeling is you must be patient when you do the business. Do not think that a client contact you today, you have sent samples and made a quotation even talked to the client face to face, that he or she will certainly play an order in the near future. And do not think a client is hopeless when he or she haven’t played an order for half a year, and then give up the client. Actually many customers take half a year to order from taking samples to play an order, especially those who from aboard, they usually take our samples to do the product design, and it will take a long time to do the business. Or he was cooperated with a certain factory, and now he want to change it ,after taking the samples, he will pay attention to the big client that work with us, how the feeling with use our products, or the evaluation of our products, with an detail analyze, then he will play an order.

How to choose drawer slide: concealed soft close slide?

Concealed soft close slide is leading the most high-end drawer slide trend, which draws great attention of furniture enterprise, cabinet enterprise and bathroom cabinet enterprise that want to improve the level of their product. Improvement of product of these enterprises mostly depends on the function of hardware.

Special product profit bringing by hardware with great function is necessary to build a furniture brand. And concealed soft close drawer rails fascinates brand name furniture,   because it is a high-end furniture hardware silent slide with concealed design that no sign of slide, looking from the front of the drawer glides.

The higher-tech the product, the easier to have quality problem. If the customer makes a bad choice, it’s even more complicated and wasted than using normal slide. There are plenty of Chinese concealed soft close slide factories spring up like mushrooms, whose product’s quality and price is different from each other. How to choose concealed soft close slide is becoming a difficult choice for many production type furniture enterprises that want to apply concealed soft close slides.

Here, Kingwen Liang puts forward below advices:

First, productive technology of slide
The most direct discerning method is to discern the appearance of slide, watching the productive technology. Because of competition, normally small factories will choose bad quality material and their dies and production level are deficient, while powerful factories will use government-friendly galvanized sheet to produce slide, which has several advantages, including their hardness increases the heavy loading capacity of slide, not easy to rust and better appearance.

Second, pull-out strength of slide
Pulling out the concealed soft close slide, see whether it needs to be pulled out hard or not. Some inexperienced factories worry that the drawer can’t auto close, so they enlarge the strength of springs, but with little regard for easiness of pulling out, which lead to requiring pulling out hard and suggests the inexperience of the factories.

Third, auto closing time of slide
Pushing the concealed soft close slide, the best time from having effect of auto close to finally close is about 1.2 second. If auto closing too fast will make noise, but if too slow will have the possibility of can’t auto close fully after a long time. Normally, adopting hydraulic damper is easier to control the auto closing time than gas damper.

Four, swing range of the slide
Swing range of slide can’t be too large, or it will make the damper of concealed soft close slide can’t be bring out and make the concealed soft close slide lose the high-end function of silently auto close.

Five, durability test of slide
Durability is an important index to judge whether the quality of slide is good or not. However, not any one has testing way to let a slide keep undamaged after 50,000 times close&open with 25kg heavy loading. Maybe getting certificates from SGS or other testing institution is a great advice. After all, no one will have patient to pull and close a drawer for 50,000 times.

Six, well known slide manufacturer
Stamping pats of concealed soft close slide need highly automation to guarantee it’s stability, especially for hydraulic damper. But for some small slide manufacturers, it’s hard to ensure success by opening molds once about research and development of concealed soft close slide. One million of RMB will be wasted, if a small mistake made in opening molds. Even modification of finished molds also needs a large investment, therefore, many small enterprises even know there are some flaws in their products, but they may choose not to improve their product, because of lack of fund and the uncertainty of market. There are few slide enterprises both can produce stamping parts and hydraulic damper. They usually outsource, which result in uncertainty and uncontrollability. So it’s very obvious that well know slide manufacturers will have advantages of quality guarantee.

All in all, concealed soft close drawer slide is a high-tech product which can’t guarantee it’s effect and durability, if it don’t have technological strength. If just pursue for cheap price, it’s like the loss outweighs the gain for furniture to improve quality and brand popularity.
